Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters. This Privacy Policy explains how OptionsVision (the “App”) handles information. In short: the App is built to work on your device, and we do not collect, sell, or rent your personal information. Your trades stay on your device unless you choose to share one — see “Sharing a Trade” below. The only thing the App reports back to us is anonymous counts of which features get used — see “Anonymous Usage Counts” below, including how to turn them off.

No Account, No Personal Data

You do not need to create an account to use the App, and the App does not ask for your name, email, or other personal identifiers. We do not collect personal information about you.

On-Device Processing

When you import a screenshot, the image is analyzed on your device using Apple’s on-device text recognition. Screenshots and the trade details read from them are processed locally and are not uploaded to us or to any third party. Your screenshots never leave your device. Trades you enter or import stay on your device unless you choose to share one.

No Advertising or Cross-App Tracking

The App does not include third-party advertising, tracking, or marketing SDKs, and does not use the advertising identifier. We do not track your activity across other apps or websites, and we do not sell or share your information with data brokers.

Anonymous Usage Counts

To learn which features are worth improving, the App reports anonymous usage counts to a server we run ourselves — not to any third-party analytics service. What it sends is limited to: which feature was used and which on-screen controls you interact with (for example, that the profit and loss matrix was opened, that you moved the implied-volatility slider, or which definition you tapped to read), the general type of options strategy a trade uses (for example, that it is a call debit spread), how long the App was open, the App and iOS version, and a randomly generated install identifier. That identifier is a random number created on your device, is not derived from your device or from you, is not shared with anyone, and is erased if you delete the App — so it cannot be connected to your identity or followed to another app. The App also attaches a separate random analysis identifier that is created fresh each time you open a trade to view it and is never stored on your device; it lets us group the activity within a single trade analysis (for example, that the same trade was explored for a while) without tying that activity to you, and it does not link one trade to another. The App never sends your trades, symbols, strikes, expirations, dollar amounts, screenshots, or anything you type. Counts are batched and sent when you leave the App. As with any internet request, connection details such as your IP address are visible to the server in transit; we do not store them or associate them with these counts. You can turn this off at any time under Legal → Privacy in the App, and turning it off discards anything not yet sent.

Market Data Downloads

The App’s analysis features work offline. To keep its assumptions current it periodically downloads reference market data — the U.S. Treasury yield curve and weekly earnings, dividend, and implied-volatility files. These are one-way downloads of the same files every user receives. They do not include your trades, your screenshots, or any information about you, and the App does not tell those hosts which symbols you are looking at. As with any internet request, connection details such as your IP address are visible to the host serving the file.

Sharing a Trade

Sharing is optional and happens only when you tap Share. When you do, that trade’s details — such as the symbol, strikes, expiration, and premiums — are encoded directly into the link so the recipient can open the same chart. If they have the App installed, the link opens in it and nothing is sent to us. If they do not, their browser loads our web page at tradevision-web.pages.dev to draw the trade, which means the encoded trade is part of that web request and may appear in ordinary server logs kept by us or our hosting provider. We do not save shared trades to a database, link them to you, or require an account to view one. A share link can be opened by anyone who has it, so send it only to people you want to see the trade.

Photos Access

If you choose to import a screenshot, the App requests access only to the specific photo you select through the standard iOS photo picker. It uses that access solely to read the image you pick and does not browse or upload your photo library.

Sharing Between the App and Its Extension

If you use the share extension to send a screenshot into the App, the data is passed locally between the extension and the App on your device (via a shared app group) and is not transmitted externally.

Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date and, where appropriate, prompting you within the App.
